We have some exciting news that is going to make connecting with your favourite station much easier. 5KIxFM 90.7 officially has a new, dedicated SMS/Text number!
From now on, whenever you want to text the station, you only need to remember one single number.

Why the Change?
For years, 5KIxFM did not have the internal facilities to handle incoming text messages. To keep the community connected, our presenters generously used their own personal mobile phones to take your requests and chat during their shows.

While we loved hearing from you, this setup caused a few issues:

- Confusion: It was hard for listeners to know which number belonged to which presenter.
- Privacy: It blurred the line between station business and our presenters’ private lives.
- Distractions: Presenters were receiving station-related messages on their personal phones outside of their broadcast hours. We all know how annoying unsolicited texts can be on our personal devices!
One Number for Everything
This new dedicated line fixes all of that. It brings consistency to the station and, most importantly, protects the personal boundaries of the presenters you love to listen to.
